THE PROBLEM:
The power of oligarchs and billionaires is running unchecked and ripping apart the fabric of our nation. A handful of corporations have colluded to inflate prices and to redirect the nation’s vast wealth and abundant resources into the hands of the few, for the benefit of the few.
For too long we’ve ignored that the danger comes not only from President Trump selling out America but is also in part a result of a Democratic Party that keeps choosing to walk the wrong path — failing to hear the populist heartbeat of America.
THE PLAN OF ACTION:
The movement to reclaim America must have a twin approach.
Continued mass demonstrations and organization against rising authoritarianism and Trumpism.
Fixing a weak, inauthentic Democratic Party:
Fight for strong solutions to upend the tables on income inequality; reduce the costs of housing, utilities, and food; reconfigure a system that destructively rewards corporate greed above all else; destroy the existence of oligarchs in America.
Hold our own leaders accountable for choosing to keep us mired in identity politics and sidelining real economic priorities that benefit all Americans.
We must focus on uniting, broadening, and strengthening our tent by issuing a clarion call that the age of weak Democrats belongs in the past.
